LED or fiber optic?
The practical difference is whether the light source sits at the microscope or on the bench. The LED ring is self-contained and needs nothing else. Fiber optic accessories carry light from a separate illuminator, which keeps all heat away from the specimen.

LED Ring Light for Z45
61mm ring with variable power supply. Self-contained.
$215.00
Needs an illuminator: No — self-contained
Add to a quote →
The LED ring mounts to the underside of the zoom pod and lights the subject evenly from every side at once, which is what kills the hard shadows that make solder joints and connector pins difficult to read. Brightness is continuously variable from the supplied power unit.
It is self-contained — the LEDs are in the ring itself, so there is no separate illuminator to find bench space for. LEDs also run cool, which matters if you are working over anything heat-sensitive, and they last long enough that lamp replacement stops being something you think about.
| Outside diameter | 61mm |
| Light source | LED, integral to the ring |
| Brightness | Continuously variable |
| Z45 light adapter | Included |
| Separate illuminator | Not required |

Fiber Optic Ring Light
58mm I.D. fiber ring on a 1000mm cable.
$225.00
Needs an illuminator: Yes — 20-005

A fiber optic ring carries light from a remote illuminator to the specimen through a bundle of glass fibers. Nothing electrical sits at the ring, so no heat reaches the sample and there is no lamp above the work to replace. For long inspection sessions on heat-sensitive parts, that is the reason to choose fiber over LED.
The ring has a 58mm inside diameter and works at 65–68mm from the subject. The 1000mm fiber cable terminates in a 5/8" end adapter that fits the 20-005 illuminator. Note that this is a light guide, not a light source — it needs the illuminator to work.
| Ring inside diameter | 58mm |
| Working distance | 65–68mm |
| Fiber cable length | 1000mm |
| Input port adapter | 5/8" end adapter |
| Z45 light adapter | Included |

Dual Gooseneck Fiber Optic Light Guides
Two 460mm flexible arms with 5mm output tips.
$110.00
Needs an illuminator: Yes — 20-005
Add to a quote →
Two flexible gooseneck arms carry light from the illuminator and hold whatever position you bend them into. Where a ring light floods the subject evenly from all sides, goosenecks let you light from one side deliberately — raking light across a surface to throw scratches, tool marks, and lettering into relief.
Each arm is 460mm long with a 5mm output tip, and the pair share a 7mm input that connects to the 20-005 illuminator. They are the right choice for anything where surface texture matters more than flat, even coverage, and they pair naturally with a ring light when you want both.
| Arms | Two, flexible gooseneck |
| Length | 460mm each |
| Output diameter | 5mm |
| Input diameter | 7mm |

Fiber Optic Light Box — 150 Watts
21V 150W illuminator. Drives fiber rings and gooseneck guides.
$275.00
Needs an illuminator: It is the illuminator

The illuminator is the box that actually makes the light. A 21 volt, 150 watt lamp sits inside it, and fiber optic accessories plug into the front and carry that light wherever you need it. Because the lamp is in the box rather than over the bench, heat and electrical noise stay away from the specimen.
One illuminator drives whichever fiber accessory you fit — the 20-0021 ring light for even circumferential lighting, or the 20-2020 gooseneck guides when you want to aim light from specific angles. Brightness is adjustable at the front panel.
| Lamp | 21V, 150 watt |
| Output port | 5/8" end adapter |
| Brightness | Adjustable at the panel |
| Compatible accessories | 20-0021 fiber ring, 20-2020 goosenecks |
